The first Glenrothes 1995 Vintage release (Distilled 26/Oct/1995) was in 2011 and this was from a combination of first-fill sherry seasoned American oak and refill casks, but at the time of bottling
some of the casks were held back as their whisky was not considered ready for bottling. The whisky in these casks was then transferred to Jerez de la Frontera dry oloroso sherry seasoned first-fill American Oak casks and it is this whisky that was bottled 28/July/16 for this second 1995 release (made available in March 2017).
