Owned by Loire Valley wine producing cooperatives, Maison Ackerman has a reputation for sparkling wine which challenges the big houses of Champagne. The company was established in 1811 when Jean Baptiste Ackerman, the son of Belgian farmers, relocated to France’s Loire Valley where he set about making sparkling wines using the same methods used to make champagne.
