The Tahona Society presents The Henry Besant Scholarship. Welcoming nominations for bartenders at the beginning of their career who qualify for this brilliant opportunity and be awarded a $10,000 training grant.
Tahona Society are searching for the first beneficiary of The Henry Besant Scholarship. The scholarship is aimed at rising bar staff, who will benefit from support to advance their development.
In honour of the late Henry Besant, the co-founder of Altos Tequila and Tahona Society, the scholarship awards a bartender the funds for education. Henry, renowned as an influential voice in the drinks industry, was himself a champion for bartender education and training.
Firstly, the winning beneficiary will be awarded a $10,000 grant to fund training and education, supporting the development of their career.

They'll have the opportunity to see first-hand the process of tequila creation at the home of Altos and meet likeminded bartenders from around the world.
Lastly, as part of the scholarship, the winning beneficiary will also be invited to join the Altos team by becoming a junior Brand Ambassador, representing this successful tequila brand around the world.
To be eligible for the scholarship, you must be under the age of 24, or have fewer than four years' experience in the bar industry. Please send nominations by email to Joe Wild by 31st September 2018.
