Been making this cocktail/recipe for years and it is wonderful any season, sipping one now 12.24.2020, don't forget the Luxardo gourmet-marachino cherries. The Commodore's House in NOLA serves a Papa Dople that is excellent, ordered mine in the kitchen bar, try it there.

Agreed re Luxardoi cherries. I've changed the recipe above to reflect this and will re-shoot the photograph to illustrate cherry garnish.
