14/3 is 4.666. It is presumably Pi day in the USA because they are daft enough to write the date 3.14. It does make you wonder why we don't call 22 July Pi day.
Getting out of my depth here but yes it seems today is Pi day in the US because it's the first 3 digits of Pi written as 3.14 and then 22.7 is Pi Approximation Day but using the UK date format. I learn something new every day. (Have amended the 14/3 to 3.14 in article above).
