Not a huge bourbon drinker, but this is really a very good cocktail. Balance is absolutely perfect.

I made two variations. One original (with rye whiskey foundation ) and one per this recipe (with bourbon as foundation). Definitely prefer the original recipe — spiciness of rye mixes well with sweetness and herbal notes of other ingredients. Bourbon version was too sweet.
