Agreed, as do other commentators. Hence, I have reworked the recipe to better balance. However, this is dramatically affected by your choice of coffee liqueur.

tried with a sweeter, cheaper, coffee liqueur (pataka) and the new recipe and its much better

You may want to add a touch more agave syrup as Mr Black is very dry.
