I particularly liked the interplay of the apple and apricot, matched by the herbal and sweet-dry characters of the vermouths. This is what cocktails are about.
Wanted a cocktail for the Coronation of King Charles III and this was the only one without sherry (do not like sherry). Was concerned it may be a bit too sweet for us as an aperitif so we made some adjustments. Increased by Calvados by 1/2 oz. Decreased the sweet vermouth by 1/4 oz and increased the dry vermouth by 1/4 oz. Served in a coupe glass. Excellent. Perfect for our post-Coronation cocktail before dinner.
