There are a lot of flavors going on here. For me, sadly, the spicy kick from the rye whiskey is lost. I used a 6 year old, BIB rye. The apple does come in mid to late palate and the Amaro is faint at the end. I did use Dolin Rouge vs Punt E Mes vermouth. Not bad, but for my palate, this needs a little tweaking. Maybe increase Rye whiskey to 1.5 oz/45 mls and decrease vermouth to 1/2 oz/15 mls? Will try it again.
