I presented this recipe at my local hostelry as I do not have three of the ingredients at home... The result? A refreshing and tart drink thanks to the gentian liqueur with slightly sweetened lemon. The Mezcal added a smokey touch and, though I could not detect the pear flavour specifically, it was there reinforcing the other flavours. It might be nice to experiment with 20 ml Poire William, if folks want a more forward pear taste. The mixologist was impressed with the concoction, too!
I followed the recipe and ended up with a very strong mezcal flavored drink. Seemed even at 1/2 ounce to overpower the drink or maybe that is the flavor
It depends on the mezcal you use; more mineral flavor or more smokey...
I think this can be a excellent cocktail!
If done with a quality pear liqueur the pear flavor is there but not overpowering.
