Very curious about shaking the negroni.
Greetings Patrick. Cynar 70 is definitely my preference after trying both. Stands up well in cocktails. bor jü's description in this comments chain sums it up well. I guess I didn't reply to you directly in 2021. Thanks for the question. Cheers.
Since that time I've preferred the lower proof when I'm out and the higher when home with a quarter ounce of fernet branca
I've typically made with angostura but just came across this one with chocolate bitters. Which makes sense. Maybe I will have a second one tonight to compare? On a school night no less
Would love to make per spec. I have all but my bottle of CioCiaro is a few years old. Thoughts on how long an Amaro will last after opening ?
Curious why this is a shaken drink?
came back to this fine cocktail on a sunny copenhagen autumn afternoon.
25 ml Galliano L'Autentoco
30 ml Four Roses Singke barrel bourbon
30 ml Chazalettes Rosso
It came out just perfect (i.e. a little less Galliano than in the spec)
Do try it, enjoy it.
i agreed I went with spec and the Galliano was slightly over what was needed. Gonna make this again but either try high proof rye like Rittenhouse or pare back the Galliano to .75 ounces
I made a bunch of these 2 or so years ago for my wife and her friends and they loved it. I stuck with Bourbon at 1.25 and didnt split the base. I tried the specs here and it was just as good.
However something was off this time and my guess is my bottle of Pamplemousse Liquor (Giffards) is past its prime as the bottle is over 2 years old easily, and more.
My question is how long does Pamplemousee liquor last?
Good but wondering if Famous Grouse is better than the blended scotch i was using
What is a good sub for the Ferro China?
What is a good sub for this one?
I made this for my wife and she loved it. I made another from the Gary Regan book and I liked it too. My wife's had the JDT Falernum in it. My bottle has been opened but refrigerated since April 28 2021. Since it was a small amt I risked using it. Seemed ok but perhaps a fresh bottle would do better. Thoughts on whether it should be tossed by now?
I bought my first bottle today and it seems more like a tomato flavor than anything orange. I tried the spritz w tonic and some neat and this is probably my last bottle unless my wife loves it. She likes everything novel :)
Good I think i made it too frothy. My wife liked it. That's all that matters
This was excellent. Its going to the top of the class.
First tried Luxardo Bitter Bianco a few days ago at Amor y Amargo in NYC. Got a bottle and its been one of the best recent adds to the bar
A great drink. I am elevating it to regular status!
This was great. Just made it last night. Who originated?
It tasted a bit too sweet for my taste. Seems like it needs something else to make it a better cocktail. not sure what
Mmmm didnt go well. Wondering if its only good with goslings
Seems like an even martini of sorts
Taste great but not sure how to measure two spoons of Honey. Meaning 2 Barspoons? or teaspoons? the latter one seems a lot
Got a bottle a few days ago. Spectacular
Im wondering if I could possibly have a bad bottle of Cherry Heering? First time trying it and the two drinks I made tasted pretty bad.
Trying some of the Cynar recipies. I'm using the 70 proof. Strongly recommend this and the Cin-Cyn.
How do you feel the Cynar 70 compares with the lower proof? same flavor just faster buzz? :)
