May Vesper
A bone dry and Islay smoked Vesper "may" appeal – certainly worth a try if you're into Martinis and Islay whisky

It’s like reverse engineering genever in a way. Herbal meets malty. Will persist.

I've only found one genever around here: Bols "the Original", an auld and excellent. Would love to try more.

I’ve tried Rutte Old Simon and Old Duff, both bought online. I get the impression bols and Rutte are somewhat similar, but Old Duff is really punchy on the malt and has more expressive of the gin-type botanicals for me.
