The recipe above vaguely reminded me of a Scofflaw, but lacking the dynamic bite of rye and vermouth. The drink was ok... I made the quoted Embury recipe after that and that was interesting as I could clearly taste the Irish whiskey (Powers), but it did need a slight boost in lemon and sugar. Set me off on aimless spec journey. If 6:2:1.5 is the sweet spot, let me know.
