Just made this with Schweppes and Skinos. Could have been better. The high fructose corn syrup in the tonic combined with Skinos which in my opinion is sweeter than other mastihas I have tried made this a bit shall we say, cloying. No to the Schweppes, yes to the Skinos. ☆☆☆☆

"l'm not mad at you, I'm mad at the hors d'oeuvres" (Queen Gueva Gabor, Vegas in Space, Troma.) Tried this again, Q~Tonic, much better, still kinda sweet, go figure... liquour+mixer...duh...The celery bitters (a dash) really helped. Since Skinos came along it's the only one I can find locally. Drat.

An easy-to-make and yet original aperitve. Could be a quizz for non-Greek guests! I added a drop of celery bitter in it and thought it was a good move.

Yes to the celery bitters. Good call.

A nice way to showcase the unique flavor and minerality of your mastiha. The light quinine from the tonic water is in the distant background - this is really about the mastiha. A bit too sweet to be really refreshing.
