Dipping a toe into the drier end of the martini range (not that I haven’t been known to drink gin neat or gin & water). Ford’s gin. Halfsy on this occasion. Gave a good stir. Utterly drinkable and slipped down easily indeed. All the gin characters on show to very good effect.
Had again using a local, San Diego, gin called San Miguel. It is made with many of the herbs which are local. It is a bit more robust in flavour with a hint of pepper.
Cocktail turned out outstanding, as it did before. Very different flavour profile.
Would encourage people to try other brands. Some of small boutique distillers are coming out with some very interesting blends.
Excellent. The herbal qualities of the gin are much more present than in other Martinis. Had this to salute Queen Elizabeth II on her passing, and to toast King Charles III.
