And yes, AMAZING!!! Used Ardbeg Wee Bestie and all other brands listed…but used 15th edition recipe, which the Islay is dominant …maybe why you cut it back a smidge here….and used an old fashioned glass as shown, chilled of course. But you can find every flavor in the drink with four of my top liquors …
Used Alessio Chinato and Laphroaig 10... interesting dynamics and contrast; haven't tasted anything quite similar... Curiously, the Chartreuse is background player here?... Naturally, a rather herbal-forward flavor, with a rich, dark grape foundation... Gonna have to explore (even) more peat and herbal combos. (17 Jun 2022, 11:09a)
Hmm, the 15th edition gives a wildly different spec for this drink. 30ml, 22.5, 22.5, 22.5, which gives a vastly different (stronger and inferior!) drink.
First of all, this cocktail is AMAZING. Second of all, this picture is not correct. The cocktail is the same color as Punt E Mes. Seriously though, amazing cocktail. Also, I found one other reference to this cocktail and it was credited to Arthur Combe fyi
It's an old image and needs replacing. Sadly, our quest to update photography was slowed by pandemic. I've added Arthur's name - credit where credit is due.
