Very heavy, very powerful flavours that are well matched. Smoky, bitter, herbal, warming. I omitted the syrup and just added cinnamon tincture instead and it was still a tad sweet even for my taste.
Well this was a surprise. The only Irish whisky I had was Connemara peated so I used 45mls of that instead of the 30mls of Irish + 15mls of peated scotch. Vermouth was antica formula. Extremely complex yet well balanced drink, not to smoky or peaty either. Just a tiny bit too sweet, would try without the simple syrup next time.
Whoa. this thing is a juggernaut. I don't like Campari but I do love Green Chartreuse so... I tried it and I like it. It's strong but subtle. I think it's an elegant late night or out at at fancy restaurant kind of cocktail. Don't drink on an empty stomach!
Controversial statement: I accidentally forgot the sweet vermouth when I made this yesterday, and actually preferred it to the original :D Boozy bien sûr but really nice!
