Originally, I used The Botanist Islay Dry Gin with it's pronounced spice taste and Carpano Antica Formula which is likewise intense and festive.
Another option is Luxardo Sour Cherry Gin which does a similar job as the Sloe Gin in Simon's recipe.
… got round to trying Andreas’ version with Luxardo Sour Cherry gin (retained the sloe gin because, why not) and can confirm that it’s very pleasant indeed. Taste tasting for a winter solstice party 🥳
Not sure I'm a Master but I can spot a great recipe idea. Tis indeed better with Antica Formula so I’ve amended the recipe above accordingly. Many thanks.
