Almost like a Martinez?!. But the cherry flavor is undeniable. Not bad, almost great... I split the cherry liqueur between Mariquinhas and Sangue Morlacco, and it was perfect.
This seems to be a good cold-weather drink - something to do with the fusion of red vermouth and the cherry ingredients - which create a warming sensation. I used Plymouth Gin and de Kuyper Cherry Brandy. There is an appealing and compelling "je ne sais quoi" about the resultant flavour. It will be fascinating to compare with use of Cherry Heering. Definitely a sound tipple for UK late autumn/winter weather.
A very dark fruit (cherry, plum) forward drink between the Rouge Vermouth and Cherry liqueur (Heering cherry liqueur). It does however push my limit for sweetness, but I did enjoy it.
