Hi Simon - was feeling nostalgic so dug out my old sauce guide and note the mint julep recipe there calls for just two mint leaves. A typo or a change in tastes over the years?
Requires a little patience. Fry the bacon slowly to render all the fat. Triple strain the bourbon using filter paper to draw out all the fat. Worth the effort.
