The Torabhaig distillery sits on the east coast of the Isle of Skye overlooking the strip of sea that divides the island from the mainland. In Gaelic, this narrow sea is called Linne Shlèite, which translates as the Sound of Sleat, an appropriate name for this peated malt.
The Sound of Sleat is the fourth release in Torabhaig's Legacy Series, which documents the evolution of Torabhaig's "Smoke with Taste" signature style.
The Sound of Sleat is made using a blend of Concerto and Laureate malted barley, peated to 78PPM+, and fermented with 100% Pinnacle MG yeast over 72 hours. It is matured exclusively in first-fill American oak casks and bottled at 46% without chill-filtration or colouring.

Clear, golden amber.
Bonfire-smoked seaweed with cacao nibs, tobacco leaf, tar and dried apricot halves.
Assertive smoke clears to reveal sea salt, toasty oak, honeyed maltiness and cream-of-soda vanilla. Faint notes of pear drops.
Lingering, salty smoke and charcoal.
Smoky peat and seaside salinity run through this generous malt, but the more you sip, the more your palate acclimatises to reveal pleasing cream-of-soda vanilla and pear drops.
