Released in September 2011 and sold under Master of Malt's 'Professor Cornelius Ampleforth' label, as the name suggests this gin is bottled at a higher strength than the original Bathtub Gin. The bottle is wrapped crinkled brown paper with a black wax seal and a Naval 'White Ensign' flag.
It is produced from pot-still spirit which has been infused with crushed botanicals including juniper, cinnamon, cardamom, orange peel, cloves and coriander for one hour. (The original Bathtub Gin used whole botanicals in a 24 hour infusion.)

Pale straw yellow with some tiny partials in suspension.
Pungent spiced oily muslin cloth – think aromatherapy – with pine and spruce needles, cardamom, coriander, cinnamon and clove.
Slightly sweet and aggressively flavoured with not just the high alcohol strength packing a punch. Juniper struggles or dominance in a spice war waged on one's palate.
Very long. Lingering cardamom, coriander and clove led, hot spicy finish. Thankfully the days of Prohibition are behind us.
