Elgood’s Golden Newt is named after the colony of Great Crested Newts which reside in the brewer’s garden lake. A pale session bitter, it is brewed using fine pale Maris Otter malt combined with wheat malt and rye crystal. Late added dry hops include Fuggles, Goldings and American Cascade.

Appearance:

(best before 28-Mar-13) Clear but with slight chill haze, golden amber with medium ivory coloured head.

Aroma:

Buttery biscuits (reminiscent of cheesecake base), floral grassy hops with subtle grapefruit zest.

Taste:

Pronounced pine and grapefruit hop bitterness over bready malty base.

Aftertaste:

Grassy hop finish with lingering metallic bitterness.
