Created in 1933, Bush Ambrée is Brasserie Dubuisson’s flagship beer. It’s a filtered Belgium strong ale brewed with caramel malt, Dubuisson’s own yeast and water drawn from the breweries basement. The beer is conditioned for 4 to 6 weeks.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 15/10/2012

Appearance:

(best before 12-Jul-14) Clear, deep coppery amber with a lasting creamy white head and heavy lacing.

Aroma:

Tropical fruit and raison bread with pungent yeast and white pepper.

Taste:

Spirity alcohol is subdued by subtle sweetness. Burnt raisons, currants and blacked Christmas cake with cracked black pepper.

Aftertaste:

Peppery spirit notes linger with more burnt fruit. The extremely high alcohol content makes this a challenging brew but one that should be admired for its balance.
