Made with wormwood, star anise and other botanicals, this bitter-sweet Dutch liqueur was first made in 1821 by the Hennekens family at their distillery in Beek, Limburg. In 1980 the brand was purchased by Lucas Bols and the original distillery in Beek closed and turned into a museum.

Aparência:

Clear, pale golden.

Aroma:

Herbs and spices – particularly caraway and aniseed. Quite kummel-like.

Sabor:

Dry and bitter-sweet and spicy with balsawood and cashew nuttiness, bitter barky notes and tongue tingling spice.

Aftertaste:

Long spicy finish with wormwood bitterness.
