Based on 15 year old Westport* finished for six weeks in a 50 litre Pedro Ximinez sherry seasoned octave cask, this is one of two ‘The Bomb’ whiskies (the other being Oloroso finished), both resplendent with an image of Walter White as his hat wearing Heisenberg alter ego.
In order to prevent third parties who have acquired its whisky selling it under their closely protected brand name, Glenmorangie sell casks of its single malt with a tiny amount of Glen Moray whisky added, calling their now blended malt whisky ‘Westport’.

Aparência:
Clear, deep coppery amber with burnished copper highlights.
Aroma:
Blackberry, blueberry and boiled sweets with freshly sawn oak, vanilla and faint cinnamon spice. Water releases vanillins from the oak.
Sabor:
Astringently dry piney oak with sugary sweetness, jammy fruit and peppery spice. Water is needed to wet the oak and reveal spicy fruit.
Aftertaste:
Jammy fruit with cinnamon and clove spiced oak. A tad over oaked but this sherry influenced malt likes water.
