The Old Fitzgerald bourbon brand was named after John E. Fitzgerald, who according to a family biography of Pappy Van Winkle was a bonded treasury agent, so permitted to carry keys to the aging warehouses and often helped himself to some of the best bourbons.

Larceny is a wheated bourbon, meaning that the second major grain in the mashbill after corn is wheat rather than rye.

Larceny is blended from batches of 100 or fewer barrels aged 6 to 12 years on the upper floors (4 to 6) of Heaven Hill’s rick houses.
