Released in 2016, as the name suggests “Double Oak” is first aged in charred American white oak barrels and then re-casked for a further period of maturation in freshly charred barrels.

Clear, golden amber.
Pungent caramel, vanilla and toasty oak with chamois leather and light cinnamon.
Quite sweet with buttery vanilla, caramel and toffee popcorn, tempered with lightly cinnamon and black pepper toasty oak. Pleasing notes of rich maple syrup and roasted nuts.
Buttery vanilla, new soft leather, chargrilled sweetcorn, maple syrup and caramel with mild cinnamon spice.
Wow this bourbon is sweet. So sweet that it’s hard to believe it has no added sugar, but we are reassured by the “straight bourbon” labelling. That sweetness makes this all too quaffable neat. Imagine blending this with a drier more ‘serious’ bourbon. Perhaps buy a bottle and experiment blending with a bottle or two of other bourbons yourself. I’d also suggest throwing in some rye.
