Aluna is a blend of Guatemalan and Caribbean rums with coconut water. This should not be confused with coconut rum liqueurs, Aluna Coconut is a spirit rather than a liqueur.

We're told Aluna means 'to the moon' and that "the label adopts a lunar phase mandala design, which is a spiritual symbol for the universe."

Launched in May 2017.

Aparência:

Crystal clear.

Aroma:

Toasted coconut flesh with white pepper. faint nutty chocolate and faint dried banana.

Sabor:

This rum has a very delicate sweetness - it is not sweet. Delicate toasted coconut flavours with very mild black pepper spice, cream-of-soda vanilla and faint dark chocolate.

Aftertaste:

Delicately nutty coconut with black pepper spice and faint cacao.

No geral:

This coconut rum does have some sugar, but so do cognacs. Aluna Coconut is a spirit and not a liqueur so should not be confused with sweet coconut rum liqueurs. Would be nice to see at 40% so more firmly in the rum category - even in North America.
