As the name suggests, this Japanese gin is based on a corn and barley distillate made using a Vintage Coffey column still with botanicals including Japanese citrus fruits: Yuzu, Kabosu, Amanatsu and Shikuwasa, along with apples and Japanese Sansho pepper.
Named after its inventor Aeneas Coffey, the 2-column continuous Coffey still used to make this vodka was imported to Japan from Scotland in 1963.

Crystal clear.
Zesty lime, grapefruit and orange with subdued piney juniper and black pepper.
Layers of sweet and bitter citrus fruit with light piney juniper, orange sherbet, nutty angelica root and black pepper spice.
Sherbety zesty lemon and orange, piney juniper and white pepper.
This gin may be Japanese, but it is distinctly new western in style (with subdued juniper) and zesty sherbety citrus to the fore.
