Nuet is flavoured with caraway, sourced from Inderøy in Norway, but omits other botanicals found in more traditional akvavits, such as fennel and anise seed, in favour of fresh botanicals, including grapefruit peel, blackcurrant and blackcurrant leaves.

Nuet means "now" in Scandinavian and is often used in the phrase "lev i nuet," which means "live life in the moment." As the brand's folk say, "Nuet is now," and they launched their contemporary aquavit in 2018 "through a desire to show the world the full potential of the Scandinavian aquavit."

Aparência:

Crystal clear.

Aroma:

Caraway leads a complex nose with hints of blackcurrant, celery, coriander and zesty lemon.

Sabor:

More caraway with blackcurrant, liquorice, tonka, mint and zesty grapefruit.

Aftertaste:

Lingering caraway, white pepper and delicate clove.

No geral:

It is gin-like but without the piney juniper. Like gin, Nuet is great served with tonic water to produce a refreshing drink that's less flabby, fresh, and enlivening. Indeed, trying Nuet with tonic water led me to consider increasing our rating (from 4.5 when sampled neat) to 5-out-5 with tonic.
