Distilled from a mash bill of 80% American corn, 12% malted barley and 8% rye. After ageing for five years in once-used bourbon barrels, the whiskey is finished for six to 12 months in Laird's apple brandy barrels.

Appearance:

Clear, golden amber.

Aroma:

Whiskey garnished with green apple, vanilla, brown sugar and cinnamon.

Taste:

Spiritous spice but mellower than you'd expect from a 50% alc./vol. spirit. Pleasing toffee-apple notes, popcorn, vanilla and cinnamon spice.

Aftertaste:

A long, satisfying continuation of the palate. Again, mellower than you expect from such a high-proof spirit.

Overall:

Apple brandy cask finishing has influenced this sweet corn whisky but not overwhelmed it.
