Etter is synonymous with high-quality Swiss kirsch, made by the same family since 1870. More than 4.5kg (10 pounds) of fresh mountain cherries exclusively from the region surrounding Zug are distilled to make each bottle of this kirsh.

The eaux-de-vie evolve for years in glass demijohns before bottling.

Kirsch is great sipped neat after dinner or as an aperitif mixed with soda. In cocktails, it is noted for pairing génépy.

Cherry cultivation near the shores of Zugersee Lake dates back to the 1400s, with the first cherry distilleries appearing in the area in 1846. Farmers and producers banded together to form the "Kirschwasser-Gesellschaft in Zug" in 1870 to protect and promote true "Zuger" kirsch eau-de-vie.
