Review and Tasting

Sampled on 07/05/2012

Appearance:

Clear, mid golden amber with polished golden highlights.

Aroma:

Dried fruit -plump sultanas and figs, dark bitter chocolate, instant coffee and amontillado sherry.

Taste:

Similar to Nikka's 17-year-old Pure Malt in taste profile but with more refined and integrated rum and raison notes. Superbly balanced with ginger and cracked black pepper spice, tangy orange marmalade and a lightly smoked oaky garnish.

Aftertaste:

More slightly peaty smoky notes emerge in the elegant, slightly sweet spiced finish. All in all, easy to like and all too easy to drink. diffordsguide
