Review

Manchester is Tiki-Tastic right now… Hula is a cosy basement bar following the theme with lashings of palm leaves, fish tanks, sand and leopard print.

This kitsch little den follows Trader Vic’s lead where it comes to menus and includes some true classics whilst also giving a nod to more modern tiki phenomenons with some well-priced sharing drinks. Top of the bill is their Powder Kegs – three litre casks filled with ‘Hula’s special secret potion’ which fly out as DJs keep things going till the early hours. There’s lots of space for dancing as the low level seating can easily be moved and with deals on cocktails in the early evening – Hula is a fun spot to hang out with pals.
In their own words “Even the most hardy bar frequenter will be transported to other, more heavenly worlds...”
