This is a proper pub with atmosphere and beautiful Victorian décor - a working museum and a fine example of what a local boozer should be. You'll find well-kept cask ales, an excellent range of malts and even a splattering of cocktails - although I can't imagine ordering a cocktail here. If you're very lucky, you'll score the snug. Otherwise perch at the long barcounter and soak up the wondrous surroundings.
