Batuar Bar occupies an elegant corner of Barcelona's Cotton House Hotel, a former 19th-century headquarters of the city's cotton guild that has been transformed into one of the city's most characterful luxury hotels.
While the building's grand staircase, lofty ceilings and original architectural details hint at its mercantile past, the bar itself is more intimate, with rich timber, leather seating and soft lighting creating a sophisticated retreat from the bustle of the Eixample district. The name "Batuar" refers to the process of beating and softening cotton fibres, a subtle nod to the building's heritage.
The drinks list balances classics with contemporary signature cocktails made with premium spirits and seasonal ingredients.
