Produced by Christophe Tardy at the Tardy family's estate in Cognac by infusing Ecuadorean Robusta coffee essence in estate produced 4-5 year old cognac. The blend is matured in 40 year old oak casks for 12 months to allow the flavours to marry.
Sampled on 30/10/2019
Clear but so dak that almost opaque, deep tawny brown.
Pungent, heavily roasted coffee and dark chocolate with very faint chicory.
Intense. Dry, strong espresso coffee and bitter cacao with black pepper and cinnamon. Faint liquorice and chicory.
Black pepper spice and faint chili-like heat linger in the long cognac, coffee and chocolate finish.
Cognac notes are present but subtle on the nose and palate but shine in the long finish of this intensely flavoured, dry and complex coffee liqueur.
