Meaning 'the clumsy bear' in Danish, Den Klodsede Bjørn vodka is made by Frederik Plum, a self-taught distiller who discovered his love for vodka after studying Russian philosophy and metaphysics.
He started making his vodka in 2013, soon after his son was born, a fact celebrated with his son's initials V.A.M.P., for Vladimir Asbjørn Munk Plum, on the vodka's label.
Frederik makes his vodka in Denmark using the tiny copper pot stills at the Trolden Distillery in batches of 75 litres. The vodka is distilled from Danish barley and wheat malt malted and brewed in-house at Trolden. The distillate is cut to bottling strength and bottled without filtration.
Sampled on 19/04/2016

Creamy white bread with cracked black pepper spice.
There's an appealing creamy dairy sweetness, clean minerality and zippy white and black pepper spice to this very characterful vodka.
