Review and Tasting

Sampled before 1st May 2011

Appearance

Amber coloured

Aroma

Malty cacao rich chocolate, truffles, coffee beans, vanilla with appley notes and wafts of smouldering oak chips. A splash of water brings out linseed oil/putty aromas.

Taste

Bone dry heather, woody rooty, peaty flavours, but these are not at all smoky.

Aftertaste

Subtle cognac-like rancio and a lightly salty, bitter seaweed finish.
