Review and Tasting

Sampled on 06/06/2024

Appearance:

Clear, golden yellow.

Aroma:

Floral with aniseed, vanilla, coriander and delicate spice.

Taste:

Herbal and delicately spicy with coriander and aniseed, rounded by honeyed sweetness. The palate has a floral soapiness - in an attractive way.

Aftertaste:

Clove-like spice fades to reveal buttery floral vanilla.

Overall:

Considered by some as an alternative to Yellow Chartreuse, but Izarra Jaune has more of a floral-led aroma and with far less of the peppermint and aniseed freshness. However, Izarra Jaune is a great product, not just being a mere stand-in.
