Stoodley is a organic and bottle conditioned dark stout brewed with Chocolate and Crystal malt along with oats and wheat. Its makers say, “We love it with something indulgent like a chocolate pudding or a rich fruit cake.” We understand this stout has also been sold under the 'Suma Penumbra' name.

Appearance:

(sample bottle BBE Nov/17) Clear but virtually opaque, deep brown/black with thick retentive tan head with moderate head.

Aroma:

Tar, coal dust, dark chocolate and mocha coffee.

Taste:

Full-bodied with creamy mouthfeel. Charcoal, burnt rye bread, tar and heavily roasted coffee beans with some liquorice and zesty bitter orange.

Aftertaste:

Lingering charcoal, burnt toast, tar and faint liquorice.

Overall:

This well-balanced stout has an attractive creamy mouthfeel with flavours of burnt rye bread charcoal and heavily roasted coffee beans with some sweet liquorice and zesty bitter orange.
