Created by the late Don José Navarro in the 1970s, Havana Club Añejo 7 Años was the first aged Cuban rum introduced to the world as a sipping rum to be enjoyed neat.

Havana Club Añejo 7 Años is a blend of many rums of different ages, the youngest of which have spent seven years aging in ex-bourbon casks.

Havana Club rums are produced by a joint-venture between Pernod and state-owned Cuba Ron.

Review and Tasting

Appearance:

Clear, deep coppery amber.

Aroma:

Biscuit, espresso/roasted coffee, tobacco leaf, chocolate and vanilla with gingerbread, nutmeg and orange marmalade.

Taste:

Medium to full-bodied, rich and ripe yet dry. Woody oaky spice (nutmeg and cinnamon), orange marmalade, vanilla fudge, creamy milk chocolate, gingerbread, espresso coffee, fruit trifle and overripe banana.

Aftertaste:

Black pepper spice, espresso toffee and vanilla fudge.

Overall:

Biscuity with pronounced tobacco and espresso coffee. Woody nutmeg and cinnamon spice, orange marmalade, vanilla, chocolate, gingerbread and overripe banana.
