The flagship rum of the Appleton brand, this golden rum was launched in 1987. Its 'V/X' name is due to being blended from pot and column distilled rums aged between five and ten (V & X) years in oak casks (with added toasted oak chips).

In the days of the old plantations, 'estate rums' were the special rums made for the exclusive use of the absentee owners.
