Single de Samalens is made from the juice of a single variety of grape: Ugni Blanc but considering the name, confusingly is double distilled. The grapes used by Maison Samalens come exclusively from Bas Armagnac (mostly from the grand Bas Armagnac), on the border between the Gers and Landes.

Όψη:

Clear, golden amber appearance.

Μύτη:

Linseed oil nose with aromas of cherry, floral lilly, sherry, prune and golden syrup.

Στόμα:

Fur-tongue feel to a somewhat green oily palate with subtle dry spice oak lighted with vanilla. More subtle flavours of dried fig, sultana and aniseed.

Επίγευση:

Finishes quite woody with charcoal dryness.
