The name ‘Engels’ is a clue to this being De Molen’s Dutch interpretation of an English cask ale. Brewed using Pale and Cara barley malts, Sladek and Amarillo bittering hops - Sladek from the Czech Republic also used for dry hopping. Bottled without pasteurisation. 9° Plato, 30 EBU

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 15/10/2012

Appearance:

(2-Mar-12) Cloudy, coppery amber with thin but long lasting off-white sudsy head and heavy lacing.

Aroma:

Bready apricot and peach fruit with grassy piney hops.

Taste:

Bitter sweet with creamy mouth feel, pronounced stone fruit (apricot and lychee), vegetal notes with pine and grassy hops.

Aftertaste:

Peach, apricot and overripe banana fruit with lingering grassy hops. Just a tad too much sweet fruitiness.
