Grande Absenté is made with alcohol, sugar (approximately 35g of sugar per litre), infusions and essences of absinthe, wormwood and star anise, green anise alcoholates, lemon balm and mint. Brilliant blue FCF and tartazine is added to produce the vibrant green colour.

Appearance:
Clear, vibrant harlequin green. Turns hazy but fails to louche with water.
Aroma:
Pungent, aggressive peppery spirit, fresh fennel, aniseed and liquorice.
Taste:
Green, herbal flavours are pronounced when neat. Water reveals anise, liquorice, white pepper, cloves, eucalyptus and fennel.
Aftertaste:
Bitter finish with white pepper and black liquorice.
