Review and Tasting

Sampled on 10/03/2018

Appearance:

(sample bottle batch No. L17491101) Opaque, milky pale yellow.

Aroma:

Pungent zesty lemon and lemon oils with delicate white pepper.

Taste:

Surprisingly dry with tart lemon acidity only partially balanced by sugar sweetness. Very clean and fresh and an enlivening lemony flavour. Creamy mouthfeel.

Aftertaste:

Long zesty, lemony finish. Leaves your mouth fresh and almost fizzing.

Overall:

The high concentration of lemon oils in this liqueur is evident from its almost creamy appearance. Superbly fresh and invigorating zesty lemon flavour. Balanced and far from overly sweet. Beware, this is a traditional limoncello so is best enjoyed while still fresh. A "scum line" may form in the bottle if left.
