Review

Across from the Azteca Latin Lounge is Beaufort House, a loud and buzzing brasserie with arguably London's friendliest doormen - so keen are they for you to enter you're left slightly suspicious. You needn't be. Located on the corner of King's Road where it meets Hammersmith Bridge Road, on warm nights the doors along the street are thrown open and the pumping music mingles with the sound of passing sports cars.

Audrey Hepburn and George Peppard, in their Breakfast at Tiffany's roles, look over the ground floor bistro, which is open all day, and an island bar that's the real focus of the place, though upstairs there's a more formal restaurant and apparently a champagne penthouse. The menu is again classic Chelsea - fruit-led (fresh and puréed) concoctions, definitely more long than short, spirituous drinks. That said, they can make passable classics.
