This Del Maguey Single Village Mezcal is distilled exclusively using Tobala, a variety of agave linked to truffles due to its rarity and its growing in the shade of oak trees at the highest altitude canyons.

This 'wild' variety of agave has broader leaves and is much smaller than other maguey. Consequently, more piñas are required to make the same quantity of mezcal.

Appearance:

(sample bottle Lot. TOB-201) Crystal clear.

Aroma:

Grassy mango skin with light orange zest and dried apricot. Very faintly spiced and smoky.

Taste:

Earthy, salty, minerally and fruity with mango and tropical fruit. Cinnamon and black pepper spice with shoe polish-like smoke.

Aftertaste:

Dried mango and apricot with light salty smoke, sweet cinnamon and boot polish.

Overall:

Fruity and earthy with elegant spice and chewy smoke.
